Our premium Tier 1 Stand-Alone plate, developed to deliver NIJ Level IV protection with an excellent protection-to-weight ratio. Its monolithic silicon ceramic strike face from Saint-Gobain and high-performance aramid backing combine serious ballistic capability with a refined, weight-efficient construction, without requiring additional soft armor.
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
At the core of the Tier 1 plate is a monolithic silicon ceramic strike face from Saint-Gobain, combined with a high-performance aramid backing. This premium material combination delivers demanding Level IV protection while keeping the overall weight lower than more conventional ceramic armor constructions.
The single-curve geometry provides a clean and practical fit across a wide range of plate carriers, while the liquid-repellent Cordura® cover protects the armor system against moisture, dirt and everyday operational wear.
With a 26 mm profile, a weight of 3.05 kg and an 8-year ballistic warranty, the Tier 1 is built around a strong protection-to-weight ratio, combining serious ballistic capability with reduced weight and dependable long-term performance.
BALLISTIC PERFORMACE
Ballistic protection is defined by measurable performance under controlled test conditions. The armor system has been evaluated against specified rifle threats to assess its protective performance under defined impact conditions.

EDGE-TO-EDGE BALLISTIC PROTECTION
Our SA hard armor plates are designed with edge-to-edge ballistic protection, maximizing the active protective area across the plate, including towards the edges.
Some plate constructions use wide non-ballistic foam borders around the ceramic strike face. While this can reduce the overall weight of the plate, it also reduces the actual ballistic coverage.
DBA focuses on maximizing the active ceramic area to provide greater protective coverage across the entire plate.
LIQUID, OIL & EXTREME TEMPERATURE RESISTANT
Protected against liquids such as water and oil. The hard armor plate is enclosed in a durable Cordura® cover, helping to protect the ballistic construction from exposure to moisture, oils, and other liquids while maintaining its structural integrity.
Designed to withstand demanding hot and cold conditions, the protective outer construction helps shield the plate from environmental exposure and supports reliable performance across a wide range of operating temperatures.
DROP RESISTANT
Anti-drop resistant cf. NIJ Standard 0101.06.
Protective edge construction provides additional durability and protection against impact when the plate is dropped.
